Fans launch 'Velayudham' audio

The importance Vijay gives to his fans and the gender-equality that the Ilayathalapathy follows came to the fore in Madurai on Sunday, when the music of 'Velayudham' was launched at a grand function attended by thousands of his supporters.

Vijay asked two of his fans to release the first copy of the audio CD, which has songs composed by Vijay Antony. A girl from Madurai and a guy from Thanjavur were handpicked by him to do the honours.

At the function attended by director of the film Raja, producer Aascar V Ravichandran, heroine Hansika Motwani and others, Vijay donated five cows, provided financial aid to students, and gave other assistance to the needy.

The temple town in general and the function venue in particular adorned a festive look, and Vijay, the founder president of Makkal Iyakkam, was given a rousing reception earlier in the day when he landed in Madurai.
