Ilaya Thalapathi's 'Velayudham' is set for a Deepavali release .Thameens is releasing Velayudham in kerala ,more than 100 theatres.and the action packed thriller is one of those movies, where the common man is forced to take responsibilities and whack the goons up, for the common good.Ilaya Thalapathi Vijay, who plays Vetrivel in this movie, leads a life of peace in a village, with his younger sister, played by Saranya Mohan. Hansika Motwani and Genelia are the heroines in this thriller.

Audio of the film released on august 28th and songs were already in hit chart. Audio launch function was held at Madurai in an unusual manner amidst a huge gathering of his fans and supporters.Few hours after the audio release Sony Run out of Stock. Three Lakh Cds saled in just one hour.

'Velayudham' has its stunt sequences by Tom Delmar of 'Star Wars' and Braveheart fame, who in an interview expressed that the movie boasts off never-seen-before stunt sequences as the action sequences are complex and referred to Vijay as the one of the most dynamic actors.Looks like with an ensemble of star cast, brilliant action sequences, a superhero Vijay and the right dose of emotions, 'Velayudham' will take us all on Vijay's superhero journey.‘Velayudham’ is features Hansika Motwani, Genelia D’ Souza, Santhanam, Saranya Mohan and M S Baskar in prominent roles. Vijay's heroine clarifies rumors

Angela Johnson who shot to fame as a Kingfisher calendar girl has been in the news a lot lately. She is all set to make a dazzling debut in films as she will be Vijay's heroine in his film with Murugadoss. It has also been said that Salman wants her as his heroine and that she is dating Ranbir Kapoor.
Laughing away these rumors, Angela said that there is no film with Salman as of now and as for Ranbir she said that she does not wish to comment and make a big deal out of nothing.

Jeyam Raja compares velayutham with Rajani's Baasha

‘Jayam’ Raja has almost completed the shooting of his upcoming big-budget film Velayudham which has Vijay in the lead. The film unites Vijay together with Genelia for the second time after Sachin a few years back. Bubbly and pretty Hansika would be the second heroine in the film which also has the talented Saranya Mohan playing Vijay’s younger sister.

The film has been set to score by Vijay Antony and has been produced by Ravichandran’s Ascar Films. “As such, equal footage has been given to both the heroines. Though sparks flew between them at the shooting spot, there weren’t any verbal duel or the case of both of them looking away from each other. The ‘ego’ problem was very much there but didn’t go beyond our limit,” said Raja.

Genelia’s last film in Tamil was Uthamaputhiran opposite Dhanush which didn’t do exceptionally well at the box-office. On the contrary, Hansika is quite happy at the way her last film Engeyum Kaadhal fared at the box-office. Both the heroines are praying for Velayudham to become a super-duper hit to resurrect and sustain their respective careers.

Speaking about the film, Raja further added that but for a solitary song, the shooting has been completed. He likened the film to Rajini’s phenomenal hit Baadshah when he said that Velahudham to Vijay would be like Enga Veettu Pillai was to MGR and Baashha was to Rajini.
